When presented with an opportunity to retrace his father’s World War II footsteps along Germany’s Rur Valley, Drew Keller grabbed the only camera available, his iPhone 5. Shooting over the course of two days he leveraged the camera’s small profile and unobtrusive presence to explore a string of towns and villages ravaged during the final days of the Allied Force’s push to the Rhein River and Berlin.
